PetPal is a mobile app designed to simplify pet care for busy owners. It combines essential tools like appointment scheduling, activity tracking, health record management, and reminders into one easy-to-use platform. By streamlining these tasks, PetPal helps ensure pets get consistent care while reducing stress for their owners.
The Problem
Pet owners often struggle to keep up with vet visits, exercise routines, feeding schedules, and health records, leading to missed tasks and added stress. PetPal solves this by offering a single, user-friendly app that integrates all aspects of pet care.
With features like appointment scheduling, activity tracking, health record storage, and custom reminders, PetPal makes it easy to stay organized and consistent. By streamlining pet care into one platform, PetPal reduces stress for owners and ensures pets receive the attention they deserve
Identifying the User

Owners managing the care of multiple pets often struggle to keep track of individual needs like feeding schedules, medications, and activity levels. PetPal provides personalized profiles for each pet, making it easy to stay on top of everything.
Identifying who would use PetPal was essential to shaping its development. PetPal is designed for pet owners looking to simplify their pet care routines, whether they are new pet parents or experienced caregivers managing multiple pets. The app caters to users seeking an easy, all-in-one platform for scheduling vet appointments, tracking exercise, logging health records, and setting feeding or medication reminders.
Once the target users were identified, a general user flow was developed to guide the application’s functionality. This flow served as the foundation for creating prototypes, which were tested with potential users to identify any inconsistencies and refine the app’s design for maximum usability.

New pet parents who may be unfamiliar with care routines benefit from PetPal’s user-friendly interface and built-in guidance. The app helps them establish consistent schedules and track important milestones in their pet’s health and development.
Research & Prototyping
After fully developing the concept for PetPal, I moved into the research and prototyping phase to bring the application to life. I started by creating detailed user flows to outline essential features like pet health tracking, appointment scheduling, and community resources. Using Figma, I designed wireframes to visualize these flows and tested them with a study group of pet owners. Their feedback highlighted practical adjustments and preferences, helping me refine the design to better meet user needs.
I analyzed features from apps like Rover and Chewy for partial inspiration. This process reinforced the unique value of PetPal while guiding feature prioritization. Through iterative design and user-centered adjustments, I created a solid foundation for the app's functionality and user experience.
